Compliance drift rarely starts with one dramatic failure.
More often, it is a collection of small things: a PMI moved and not re-planned, a licence check not completed when it should have been, an MOT certificate sitting in somebody's inbox, a driver health declaration due, a handbook acknowledgement missing, or a defect that was repaired but never properly closed in the record.
Spreadsheets can be very good at calculation, but they are not naturally a live workflow between the driver, transport office, maintenance evidence and management review. I kept finding myself creating more tabs, more trackers and more reminders to make the underlying compliance system visible.
So I started building the system around the questions I actually ask when managing compliance: What is due? What is overdue? Which vehicle has an open issue? Which driver needs action? Where is the evidence? Who needs to follow it up?
Why the walkaround check had to be part of the same system.
A driver defect app on its own solves only the first part of the process. The transport office still needs to see the report, assess the defect, control the vehicle if necessary, arrange repair and retain a complete record showing what happened next.
That is why the walkaround workflow sits inside MV Fleet Compliance. The driver check becomes part of the vehicle's compliance history rather than another message or PDF arriving in a separate inbox.
Why I designed it for smaller operators too.
Small fleets have the same need for defensible roadworthiness and driver records, but they often have less administrative resource. I wanted the system to be proportionate enough for a three-vehicle operator while still having room for a growing business to use the same workflow.
The result is a web-based platform for fleet, driver, maintenance and evidence control, with clear subscription levels rather than a large implementation project.
What I want the system to become.
The goal is not to replace the Transport Manager or pretend software makes an Operator Licence compliant. The goal is to give the people carrying the responsibility a clearer view of the operation and a stronger evidence trail when they need to prove what was done.
MV Fleet Compliance is now live.
