About MV Transport Consultants
Practical advice shaped by senior responsibility for fleets, people, Operator Licences, FORS, maintenance, safety and operational performance.

The background
Mike Manning has more than 20 years’ experience across UK and European road transport, with roles covering driver, planner, Transport Manager and senior transport and compliance leadership.
His work has included Operator Licence applications, maintenance systems, driver management, tachograph compliance, FORS Bronze and Silver, health and safety, cost control, depot operations and improvement programmes.
“I do not believe in consultancy that produces a report and disappears. The operator needs to understand the risk, know who owns the action and be able to prove the system is working.”
Selected outcomes
Rebuilt management routines, compliance ownership and evidence over an 18-month recovery period.
Prepared the application and operating systems so the business was ready to operate properly from grant.
Implemented the policies, evidence and responsibilities required for initial accreditation.
Supported progression to Silver with a clean audit outcome and no minor action points.
How MV works
Problems are not softened to protect feelings when the licence is carrying the risk.
Systems should fit the size and complexity of the operator while still meeting the required standard.
Every action needs a responsible person, deadline and evidence that it has been completed.
About working with MV
Mike holds the Transport Manager CPC, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification and ALLMI Appointed Person training, alongside practical senior transport and compliance experience.
No. MV is particularly focused on small and medium-sized operators that need experienced support without a large internal compliance department.
Yes. Independent audits and retained consultancy can support and challenge an internal Transport Manager without replacing their role.
