Cookie & Device Storage Notice
What the website and installed web apps store on a browser or device and why.
1. Current approach
MV Fleet Compliance uses essential browser storage and similar technologies needed for secure sign-in, remembering security/session state, running the installable web apps and protecting/synchronising the service. We also use Google Analytics 4 on selected public website, pricing, registration and legal pages only when the visitor accepts analytics. We do not use Google Analytics inside the secure customer portal, MV Admin area or driver app.
Advertising storage and behavioural advertising tracking are not enabled by this implementation.
2. Essential technologies we use
- Authentication/session storage: used to keep authorised users signed in and route them to the correct company/driver area.
- Local/session browser storage: used for small application preferences, migration/version flags and secure app-flow state. Supabase remains the source of truth for live company data.
- Service workers/cache storage: used by the operator and driver progressive web apps so the interface can install and load reliably. Live Supabase data requests are deliberately excluded from stale caching.
- Push-notification subscription data: created only after an authorised user enables notifications on a supported device.
- Cookie-preference storage: the
mvfc_cookie_consent_v1first-party cookie remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. This preference is necessary to respect and remember your choice and is currently retained for up to 180 days.
3. Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-WWSPYLF3XT) to understand whether people visit the public MV Fleet Compliance website, which public pages are viewed and whether visitors show interest in registration/contact links. We do not intentionally send form-field values to Google Analytics, and our analytics code removes query strings and URL fragments from the page location before it is sent.
The Google Analytics tag is not loaded at all until you accept analytics. If you reject analytics, no Google Analytics tag is loaded by our consent code. If you later withdraw consent, analytics is disabled and the first-party Google Analytics cookies visible to the site are removed.
| Cookie | Purpose | Our configured duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes pseudonymous visitors for Google Analytics. | Up to 180 days |
_ga_* | Persists Google Analytics session state for the GA4 property. | Up to 180 days |
Google Analytics normally uses first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. We configure a shorter 180-day analytics-cookie duration than Google’s default. Google may receive normal technical request information when the tag is used. Google states that Google Analytics does not store or log IP addresses.
4. Your choices
When you first visit a page where optional analytics is available, you can Accept analytics, Reject analytics or open Manage preferences. Rejecting analytics does not stop you using the public website or the MV Fleet Compliance service.
You can change your choice at any time using the control on the website. You can also block or clear website storage through your browser/device settings, although blocking essential authentication or application storage may prevent secure functions from working correctly.
